Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American as well as a Canadian singer-songwriter. Her albums span over 20 years. DiFranco describes her music as folk-rock or alternative, but it also contains influences such as punk, hip-hop, and jazz. Ani diFranco was the first artist to establish her own record label in 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who was introduced to Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
